Vergiate Airport (ICAO: LILG), was founded in the mid-thirties. It was the SIAI-Marchetti who ordered the construction of a new airport to test the aircraft. To date, the airport is used by thousands of private enthusiasts.
The Airport of Vergiate is located 11 kilometers from the city of Gallarate, 55 kilometers from the city of Milan, 20 kilometers from Varese and only 10 kilometers from Milan-Malpensa Airport.
This airport is seat of the AgustaWestland, a famous italian aeronautical company (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AgustaWestland).
